Hi Barry, Bonnie and the Goldberg fam,

I have been thinking of you all often and praying for you daily. You are the guy who is always cheering for everyone around you- your players and family. I hope you know I am cheering for you, Barry. You have such a great heart and fighting spirit. The memories I have working for you and Bonnie, although brief, we’re such great memories that I truly treasure. God has a plan in all of this, although sometimes hard to imagine. I hope you don’t forget that you have so many people on your team.

Barry, I just wanted to let you and Bonnie know that we are praying very hard for you at the Gist house. We are praying for God’s healing hand to give you a full bill of health. We are also praying for an overwhelming peace about the situation. If you guys need anything at all, Sherra and I only live 5 minutes from you guys, please do not hesitate at all. Prayers for you and your family are being lifted daily. We missed seeing your joyful smile at the Capital Hill Classic, but know you were felt throughout the convention center. Hi Barry. I went back to AU a few weeks ago for the Hall of Fame ceremony and it was clear that something (and someone) was missing from the room. Your voice and spirit has been such a part of AU Athletics, that your absence was sorely felt — something was different! You and your family are in my thoughts and I'm wishing you patience and peace as you navigate this daunting (and sometimes slow and boring) process of discovery and treatment. Rest that voice now, you'll need it soon!
