Barry,

Just found out about your illness and the battle you are waging (Volleytalk is good for something!). My heart is breaking with this news and yet also so full by all the love displayed in these messages. You have truly made a positive impact on a lot of people, including me.

I have always appreciated our conversations and so enjoyed running into you and Bonnie in Pittsburgh during the first/second rounds last December. As always, your honesty, passion for life, and love for volleyball made it a memorable part of our trip.

I know you'll keep competing to win this fight just as you have all the other matches in your amazing career. We're all cheering for you, Barry. Give 'em hell.

Sending tons of healing vibes to Barry, the guy who could-a, would-a been my college coach had the timing been a little different. :-) Barry, I have always enjoyed our random run-ins at volleyball tournaments, grocery stores at the beach, and packed flights to Orlando. You're a total ray of sunshine, and I look forward to our next run-in, hopefully SOON. Until then, I will think of you often and fondly. - Lisa

Bernie and I are so glad to hear the hope in your most recent note. We are praying that the treatment goes well today and that the side effects are minimal. We are also praying for encouraging and miraculous results from the scans on May 4. We pray God that you will shrink the cancers and restore Barry's physical body, in Jesus Name. Amen
