Good Morning Barry!

My dad just told me about everything going on and I wanted to reach out. Your family was such a blessing to me over that summer I lived in Maryland, and I will definitely be praying for you all. I'm sure you've heard all the sympathy and encouragement though, and I'm not great with words anyway. With that in mind I'm hoping I can brighten your day a little by going a different direction and updating you with what is going on in my life.

Since that summer I graduated college and started working as a structural engineer working towards my license. If I can find the time to study, I think I'm going to try to sit for my exam sometime later this year. I'm currently working remotely for a company in Northern VA, and I'm really enjoying it. More importantly, I married my girlfriend from that summer, and we are about to hit our 5th anniversary. We also just welcomed our first son this past November, so we have our hands full. He's a big fella, and I'm fully anticipating that he will be around 6'-4" when he's done growing. Looks like volleyball is still going to be part of our lives for many years to come and I wouldn't have it any other way. Unfortunately we live out in the Philly area, so my dad isn't going to be able to coach him like he did with my siblings and I. I guess I'll just have to take up coaching as well in all my spare time. There is more, but I think those are the highlights you'd be most interested in.

I hope hearing about some of this brings a smile to your face, and was a welcome distraction from your various treatments. Like I said earlier, I will be praying for you as you continue fighting this. Our God is powerful, and I know He can do amazing things, so that is what I am believing for you. I know you already have a good support system, but if there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to reach out and I would be happy to do whatever I can.
